Our catering team is part of the Chartwells Independent family, supported with training, food events and friendly expert advisors.
Chartwells is the leading provider of catering and support services to schools, colleges and universities in the UK. We support the highest quality education with the highest quality food, enhancing the whole learning process through championing the all-important role of nutrition and healthy eating in developing both body and mind.
All of our food is freshly prepared every day and the selection is tasty, nutritious and made from ingredients we are proud of.
We are committed to delighting pupils with great tasting food that contributes to their own wellbeing. We are proud that all of our menus offer a carefully comprised mix of nutritional and tasty food, which is compliant to government legislation.
Available each morning from 07.45 - 08.35 we offer a breakfast selection from a full English to healthy options, such as fresh fruit and juices.
We are delighted that we have the freedom to create menus that are just right for varied tastes and ages and we recognise how important it is to create interesting, tasty and healthy menus throughout the School year.
Our nutritionally balanced menus and food reflect the Food Standard Agency's Eatwell Guide. Chartwells strives to be innovative with Chef's Theatre as well as the main servery, where students can also help themselves to a soup of the day and fresh homemade bread.
One of the most popular stations, the salad bar offers a variety of colourful, fresh, vibrant salads with grains, different rice dishes and dressings.
A self-service station where we encourage students to eat one of their ‘five-a-day’. Cut fresh fruit is also available.
Located in Aquis Court, the café is open to Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth pupils every day. At 8am, cereal, toast, bacon and sausages are available. Pupils can buy a variety of snacks and drinks, including Illy coffee, along with hot food options available at lunchtime, with options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Homemade cakes and traybakes are also on sale every day, along with a selection of fresh fruit. There is also soup available during the winter months. The café accepts card payments as well as cash.
Sandwiches are also available from vending machines, giving students access to food and drink at all times, which is especially useful for those who may have to stay late at school.
We love the challenge and opportunity to reflect the individuality of the School through our food and service. This happens every day in the dining hall, as well as through parents’ events, end of year celebrations, fundraising dinners and more.
We work closely with the School’s sports department and coaches to ensure that pupils have the optimum food, nutrition and energy they need to perform at their best.
