Nicolette joined the school as a Teacher of Geography in September 2024 from South Hampstead High School (GDST), having held several positions of responsibility during seventeen years of service including Head of Teacher Induction, Head of Geography and Assistant Head - Staff Development. Nicolette stepped into the Head of Geography role at St Albans for two terms from January 2025.
As Head of Lower School, Nicolette oversees the wellbeing, pastoral care, discipline and academic progress of pupils in the First and Second Forms, supported by her two Deputy Heads of Year. She is also responsible for overseeing the 11+ Assessments and supporting pupils transition from primary to secondary school. She enjoys being active outside of the classroom leading trips in the UK and abroad.
Nicolette has an MA in Geography from St John’s College, Oxford and started her teaching career as part of the inaugural cohort of the Teach First programme in 2003. After two years in Enfield, she taught abroad in Sydney, Australia and travelled in SE Asia before returning to the UK. She now lives in London with her husband Patrick and their three children, Seamus, Caolán, and Onora, and spends much of her leisure time on Achill Island the west of Ireland.
