Economics is taught at both IGCSE and A Level, following Edexcel specifications.

A high proportion of IGCSE pupils choose to continue to A Level in the Sixth Form, but the department also caters for an increasing number of pupils who have had no previous exposure to the subject, particularly those who join us from outside the School for their Sixth Form. These pupils study alongside others who have no prior knowledge so that they can learn at an appropriate pace.

Classroom-based learning is complemented by a number of co-curricular activities, which help to provide an enriching economics education programme for our pupils.

The Economics Society is a student-run group which meets regularly to hear topical and academic economic issues presented and discussed by their peers. Business skills are developed by those students who join the Charity Challenge Friday afternoon activity and by others who follow the Entrepreneurship Enrichment course.
