The Spring Concert is the School’s main instrumental showcase in the second half of the year, and Wednesday’s concert saw eleven ensembles take to the stage. Highlights of the first half included the Sax Ensemble’s rendition of “Subway” and a memorable pair of Norwegian Dances by Grieg from the Senior Clarinet Ensemble. In the second half, larger ensembles came to the fore, with a performance of Irish reel “Molly on the Shore” from String Orchestra and finishing with a rousing set of highlights from “The Lion King” played with aplomb by the Concert Band. Our thanks go to all pupils involved, and to Mrs Parker, Ms Trentham, Mr Bainbridge, Mrs Simmons, Ms Booth and Mr Bentley for running their various ensembles so marvellously.
