New Humans Found
Posted on March 15th, 2012 at 12:10 pm by Group 3Scientists have recently found the fossilised remains of four or more people who have qualities of both modern and primative people – They have nicknamed them “The Red Deer” people. Until recently scientists have known about many creatures in our species such as: Homo Erectus; The Neanderthals; Homo Floresiensis; and the Denisovans. These all died out at least 18,000 years ago but ”The Red Deer” people lived until about 11,500 years ago in south-west China. There are still many debates about what they actually were; a branch of Homo Sapiens or their own species. One thing is for sure – they survived mainly on hunting and cooking giant deer that lived at the end of the ice age. The Red Deer people show little resemblance to any other species and share a few characteristics with Homo Sapiens and Homo Erectus they also have some unusual features never before known. They were also fairly advanced; they cooked food and used stone tools. It is also possible to deduce they they were likely tough as they had to endure the harsh climate at the end of the ice age. Further studies are taking place into the tools they were able to make and how they used them. For scientists, this discovery radically complicates the story of the origins of mankind, and they will continue to analyze the remains to uncover more information about The Red Deer people.
